A Georgia teacher in the Cherokee County school district told a student that they could not wear their #MAGA (stands for Make America Great Again) shirt to school and referred to the shirt as a Swastika.
“You cannot wear a Swastika to school – you cannot use a slogan like that,” the teacher told the student.
The incident occurred at River Ridge High School last Thursday. The school district apologized for the teacher’s behavior.
A statement from the Cherokee County School district said the following – “Her actions were wrong as the ‘Make America Great Again’ shirts worn by the students are not a violation of our School District dress code.”
At this time, it is not known if the teacher will face disciplinary action.
The teacher’s comments were caught on another student’s cell phone. The video was obtained by Turning Point USA.
